Праздник «День Святого Валентина.»

 

Образовательные задачи:

1. расширить по сравнению с базовым уровнем знания учащихся о традициях и обычаях, существующих в англоязычных странах;

2. активизировать учебные умения и навыки школьников.

 

  Звучит музыка. Ребята встречают гостей и проводят их по залу, соблюдая при этом нормы этикета и правила хорошего тона. Учителя английского языка выходят на сцену и произносят вступительное слово под звуки записи песни на английском языке.

 

Teacher: Love! Happiness! Beauty! There are not so many days in a year when we pronounce these pleasant words. Today you have an excellent chance to plunge into the atmosphere of love and camaraderie, to take part in party –games, to practice the use of some pleasant words and expressions on this special occasion.

Happy St.Valentines Day!

 

По сцене навстречу друг другу медленно идут юноша и девушка (ведущие праздника). При этом юноша читает стихотворение и дарит розу девушке.

 

 Heres a special valentine

With lots of love for you

And since you’re very special

Here are hugs and Kisses, too!

 

Затем ведущие поворачиваются к публике и здороваются с ней.

Ведущий 1 (В1): Ladies and gentlemen! Good evening!

Ведущий 2 (В2): It’s lovely to meet you here, at Valentine’s party!

 

B1: Love, love me do,

   You know I love you,

   I’ll always be true,

   So please, love me do,

   Wo-ho, love me do.

 

B2: Someone to love,

   Somebody new;

   Someone to love,

   Someone like you.

 

B1: I hope that Valentine’s Day

   Will bring you lots of fun!

   He thinks you’re extra-specially nice,

   And so does everyone!

 

B2: You’re just the nicest kind of boy/girl

   So very grown-up, too.

   No wonder that this Valentine

   Brings lots of love for you.

 

 

B1:  It’s here again, the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours, and even the office staff will exchange greetings of affection undying love or satirical comment.

B2:  St.Valentine’s Day, February 14, has been a customary day for choosing sweethearts and exchanging love-tokens from time immemorial. The method of choosing sweethearts on St. Valentine’s Day varied in different times and places. It could be a serious matter leading to marriage, or it could be a kind of game. Countless generations of young people have acknowledged St. Valentine as the friend and patron of lovers.

B1: What kind of holiday is St.Valentine’s Day?

B2:  St.Valentine’s Day is a religious holiday, which is celebrated in Great Britain, in many European countries and in the USA. St.Valentine’s Day has roots in several legends.

B1:One of the early symbols of love is Cupid, the Roman God of love, who is represented as a young boy with a bow and arrow.

 

Звучит музыка, выключается свет, зажигается прожектор, в лучах которого появляется священник. Он идёт медленно. В это время звучит голос из-за кулис:

 

 «Valentine was a Christian priest in the Roman Empire 300 years after the death of Jesus Christ.»

B1: My sweetheart, look! I can’t believe it. Is it St. Valentine himself?!

B2: You’re welcome, patron of lovers.

Священник: My Children! I’ve come from the distant past, to remind you of kindness and love, friendship and patience in your wicked world.

 Not only when it’s Valentine’s Day

 But always, all year through

 You’re thought about with words of love

 And wished much gladness, too!

B1: Do please take us back to the 1 st century when the Roman Emperor Claudius II  ruled our country.

 Священник: All right! I see you love each other and may your dreams come true!

Свет выключается, из-за кулис слышится голос: «This is the legend of how Valentine’s Day began. When the Roman Emperor Claudius II  needed soldiers, he made a law against marrying because he felt that marriage made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars. But at that time there was a kind priest named Valentine. He couldn’t agree with the emperor’s decision. When he saw that young couples were truly in love, he married them secretly »

Далее следует инсценировка легенды. Выходят юноша и девушка. Они падают на колени и жестами умоляют священника совершить обряд бракосочетания. Священник выполняет их просьбу.

Священник:  My daughter! My son! I declare you are husband and wife!

Звучит марш Мендельсона. Врывается стража:

Стражник1: Priest, you have been discovered and condemned to death!

Стражник2: To prison! To the Tower!

Следующая сцена: священник в тюрьме. Исполняется танец привидений. Выходит тюремщик с дочерью.

Священник: What a beautiful girl!

Старик : This is my daughter. She is blind! She will probably never see the light, trees!

Священник: I’ll help her by working a miracle!

 

Через некоторое время.

Дочь тюремщика радуется и показывает что к ней вернулось зрение.

 

Девушка:I’m so grateful to you . Even in prison you, Valentine, showed your love for everyone and restored my sight!

Священник: Unfortunately, tomorrow on February 14 I will have to die. But I’m not scared and I want to tell every body on earth, I love you. I’m your Valentine.

Голос из-за кулис: Just before his death, on February 14, he sent her a farewell message signed» From your Valentine”.

 

На сцену выходит ведущие.

В2:We’re just been back in the ancient legend. February 14 was right in the middle of a Roman festival called the Lupercalia. When Christianity became the religion of Rome, this joyous day was changed to St. Valentine’s Day, in honour of the saint who had given his life to help lovers. 

В1: There are many other legends about how Valentine`s Day started, and no one knows for sure whether any of them are true. Also, there are a lot of traditions of celebrating St. Valentine’s Day in different countries. In Germany girls tried a different way at learning that they would marry. They planted onions on St. Valentine’s Day. Each girl tagged onions in a corner under the fireplace. She thought she would marry the man whose onion sprouted first.

В1: Now you have a chance to see the fairy tale «Cinderella”.

П2 : We’ve got Greetings on St. Valentine’s  Day.

П1 : Although I know that friendship reaches.

 

Far across the miles

I’d still be glad to see one of

Your warm and friendly smiles

And though I know

The times we’re shared

Will last within the heart.

I can’t help wishing

We weren’t so far apart!

 

 П2 : Today we have brought some valentines!

 

I have a little valentine

That someone sent to me

And in the centre There’s a heart

П1 : Do you know that the 14 th of February is a day of fun and greetings? There is a valentine box at the valentine party. Usually it’s just a hat box or a  big shoe box decorated with paper. Each boy or girl takes a turn reaching into the box. One postmaster passes the valentines round. 

П2 :  Do you know that the valentine box is even older that valentine cards? We are observing a custom that began more that 2000 years ago. It’s wonderful to think how many people have said «Be My Valentine!»

A game “Star Hour”

 Тема: Знаешь ли ты Англию?

 

 Цель: Проверка знаний учащихся по страноведческому материалу, текстам для домашних чтений.

 

 Оборудование: Портреты писателей, картинки городов, иллюстрации к произведениям, карточки со словами, флаги англоязычных стран и др.

 

 Ход мероприятия:

 Teacher: Dear boys and girls! Dear guests! Today we are going to have a game “Star Hour”. The theme of our programme is “Do you know England”. Now you have to show your knowledge about England, English and American writers.

  Here are the participants of our game. Meet and greet them. They are:...

  Boys and girls, we are glad to meet you. Here are the questions of the first round.

  If your answers are right you have to take one step forward. You’ll be given 15 second to think over your answers.

Ведущий 1. Good morning everybody! Today we're going to speak about the seasons of the year. Listen to the rhyme. Will you say which season the boy is telling you about?

Воу: This is the season

When snowdrops bloom,

When nobody likes

To stay in the room.

This is the season

When birds make their nests.

This is the season

We all like best.

Ведущий 2.  What season is it?

Children: It is spring.

Ведущий 3.  Come here, March, April and May and two more children, a boy and a girl.

На сцену выходят 3 ученика в костюмах весенних месяцев, мальчик и девочка. На груди месяцев прикреплены карточки с соответствующими названиями: March, April, May. Girl: Pass the happy news along,

I like to write letters and draw funny faces.

Winter Months: The snow is falling, the north wind is blowing;

The ground is white all day and all night.

На сцене появляется мальчик, изображающий ветер, а также девочки в костюмах снежинок.

Wind: Little snowflakes, come and play,

I have nothing to do today.

Снежинки начинают танцевать.

Snowflakes: Here we come! Oh, what fun!

We are dancing and floating in the sun. Все поют песню "Snowflakes".

Snowflakes fall on trees and walk.

December: See the pretty snowflakes

Falling from the sky:

Ведущий 3.  Now, boys and girls! Stand up. Let's do some exercises.

Все встают. Ведущий говорит рифмованные команды; учащиеся выполняют их на местах, а один из учеников — стоя на сцене.

Hands on your hips,

Hands on your knees,

Put them behind you,

If you please.

Touch your shoulders,

Touch your nose,

Touch your ears,

Touch your toes.

Ведущий 4.  That's fine. I will ask you questions, and let's see who'll give the best answers

Ведущий 1.  What season is it now? What season was it before winter came? What season comes after winter? What season do you like best? Why do you like ... best? Is it raining now? When does it often snow? Is there a lot of snow on the roofs of the houses or only a little?

Ведущий 2.  What color is the sky today? Is it cloudy or isn't? Is the sun shining or isn't? What's the temperature today? Is the weather fine today or is it bad? Why do you think so? What holidays are there in winter? How do you spend them?

Ведущий 3.  Now, dear boys and girls, I'd like four pupils from each team to come here. Now each of you take a picture you like and describe it. I give you three minutes to think about what you will say.

Вызванные учащиеся выбирают по картинке и готовятся несколько минут, чтобы выполнить задание.

Пока учащиеся готовятся к описанию, учитель отбирает по одному капитану из каждой команды, по 10 болельщиков и проводит игру "Seasons". Каждый из болельщиков задумывает одно слово на тему «Времена года». Все эти слова записываются учителем на листке бумаги (чтобы учащиеся не изменили вдруг задуманного слова). Капитаны становятся на большом расстоянии друг от друга. Каждый капитан имеет право сказать 10 предложений на тему «Времена года». Например, первый капитан говорит: Autumn comes before winter. Sometimes it is cold in autumn. There are few flowers. The leaves on the trees are yellow and red. Only fir-trees are green in autumn. The grass in October is yellow. It often rains. The sky is cloudy. The sun does not shine. The wind is cold. Children have their warm coats on. Как только он называет предложение, в котором содержится задуманное слово, ученик, который задумал это слово, становится рядом с ним. Потом говорит 10 предложений капитан второй команды. Выигрывает капитан, который отгадал больше задуманных слов и чей рассказ лучше.

Ведущий 4.  Now let's listen to the boys and girls who are going to describe the pictures. First Team I. Each of you will come forward in turn, show your picture and describe it. Then Team II will do the same.

Каждая команда по очереди описывает картинки. После описания картинки каждым учеником представители его команды имеют право добавить свои предложения и получить дополнительные очки.

Ведущий 1.  Now let's play the game "Who Can Say More?" Will five pupils from each team come here? Each of you must say a sentence about the season I name. For example: "Spring."

После этого ведущий кидает мяч поочередно всем ученикам команды. Каждый ученик, которому ведущий бросил мяч, ловит его, говорит одно предложение и кидает мяч обратно ведущему. Compere: Now we'll play the game "Memory Run". I'd like four pupils from each team to come up to me. Team I, line up to the left and Team II — to the right. Now face the picture "Summer". When I name one of you, he or she will run up to the picture and touch anything he or she likes in the picture and name it. Then he runs quickly back. I name the second pupil. He touches the same object in the picture and names it. After that he touches anything else in the picture, names it and runs back.

Игра проходит в быстром темпе. Водящий вызывает представителей обеих команд поочередно. Третий ученик называет три слова, четвертый — четыре и т. д. Слова надо называть в том порядке, в котором это делали предшествующие ученики. Выигрывает команда, которая безошибочно повторила больше слов.

Ведущий 2. Now, dear boys and girls, I'll give you some riddles and you'll try to guess them. Listen carefully.

Ведущий называет следующие загадки:

1. Fat and gay, on a winter day,

He came here with us to stay.

But day by day he grew sad and thin,

And so we brought his younger brother in.

 

(A calendar.)

 

2. A little old woman with twelve children,

Some short, some long, some cold, some hot.

What is she?

(A year.)

 

3. Can you name five days of the week? I don't mean Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

(Today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.)

 

4. A blue sheet which covers the whole world. What is it?

(The sky.)

 

5.What is without hands and without feet, without a head or a body, but can open a door?

(The wind.)

 

6. What is it that can catch me in the garden and make me wet, but cannot reach me when I am in the house?

(Rain.)

 

7. It's so weak that a little wind can move it. It's so strong that you can cut it with a knife and leave no mark.

(Water.)

 

8. It is white, it is cold. We can skate on it. What is it?

(Ice.)

 

9. It's blue by night,

By day it is white.

It is cold and not dry,

It falls just from the sky.

(Snow.)

 

10. What man cannot live inside the house?

(A snowman.)

 

11. What goes up when the rain comes down?

(An umbrella.)

 

12. Higher than a house,

Higher than a tree;

Oh, whatever can that be?

(A star.)

 

Ведущий 3.  Both teams have guessed the riddles. Good! Now one team will do actions and the other team will try to guess what they are doing. They will ask general questions in turn and the first team will answer them.

Учащиеся должны задавать только общие вопросы. Примерные мимические сценки:

1. Мальчик сидит и читает книгу.

2. Девочка и мальчик плавают.

3. Две девочки одеваются.

4. Девочка рисует.

5. Мальчик ест и т. д.

После отгадывания всех мимических сценок первой команды команды меняются ролями. Выигрывает та команда, которая быстрее отгадала мимические сценки. После подведения итогов конкурса по отгадыванию мимических сценок лучшие рисунки помещаются на классную доску. Рисунки не подписаны, чтобы учащиеся не знали, кто их рисовал.

Ведущий 4. I'd like eight pupils from Team I to come up to the blackboard, one after another. Look carefully at the pictures, then take a piece of chalk and put a plus under (or above) the picture you like best. Then you must go back and sit down. After that eight pupils from Team II will do the same.

После подсчета плюсов под каждой картинкой объявляется фамилия победителя, и его команда получает дополнительно 10 очков.

Ведущий 1.  New we'll see whose costumes are the best.

Под музыку песни "Seasons" члены жюри выбирают и премируют лучшие костюмы. В конце этого вечера подсчитывается общее количество очков у каждой команды за участие в самодеятельности, конкурсах и играх. Объявляется команда-победительница, которая под аплодисменты делает круг почета по сцене.
